  1. That’s Bob Gill. His schtick was jumping ramp to ground. I slept on the floor of his home in Tampa Bay in 1978. He was already crippled from the Appalachian River jump by then, and to make a living Bob used to promote special events (stock car races, speedway events, etc.) I raced in a BMX event he hosted at the Sunshine Speedway in St. Pete (or was it Clearwater?) Wooden jumps, flag start, the whole deal. NBL founder George Esser and Bob were friends, and he sanctioned Bob’s BMX events. Good old days…
