After all it was Valentines Day, I didn’t have a gift but I had time, some tubing & that “I wanted to see if I could do it” kicked in.

    The taper, well I cut pie shaped 4 vertical slots 3/4 of the way up clamped & welded it, cleaned up the chunk, then put in the lathe and smoothed with the air sander as it spun.
    Damn thing took forever.
