$90, 000.00 (USD) to $100,000.00 (USD)

JOB SUMMARY: The Entry Level-Risk Analyst reports to the Head, Risk Management, and is responsible for identifying, analyzing and reporting areas of potential business risk across all business functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES*

  • Complies with all UBA America legal and regulatory requirements, adheres to the Bank’s Code of Conduct, attends regular periodic training on core Bank policies, and reports any known or suspected violations of the Code of Conduct to UBA USA management.
  • Providing reports to management regarding the status of risk exposures to help them make informed decisions about risk mitigation strategies
  • Conducting regular evaluations of the effectiveness of risk management policies and procedures to ensure they are meeting their goals
  • Responsible for the completion of the Business Unit Risk Assessments
  • Monitors, analyzes, and reports risk, including using modeling techniques and quantitative analysis to determine value at risk (VAR) measurements; works with other departments to assess risks associated with specific proposed or actual transactions, as requested.
  • Evaluates proposed business actions to determine business risk; monitor loss levels arising from credit and operational risk factors.
  • Presents recommendations to reduce and control risk exposure and improve current processes and procedures relating to risk.
  • Prepares Bank regulatory authority rating reports.
  • Evaluates sources of actions and ensures business decisions relating to risk management and control are timely and thoroughly executed.
  • Work together with other organizational line of defense (i.e. Compliance, Internal Audit, etc.)

* Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental and Bank needs. Other duties similar to the above and consistent with the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position may be assigned

  • Development and Maintenance of BCP: Ensure that the BCP is up-to-date, comprehensive, and aligned with the latest industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Assessment and Impact Analysis: Conduct regular risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats and their impact on business operations.
  • Training and Awareness: Organize training sessions and awareness programs for employees to ensure they are familiar with their roles and responsibilities in the event of a business disruption.
  • Testing and Drills: Schedule and oversee regular BCP testing and drills to validate the effectiveness of the plan and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordination with Stakeholders: Work closely with various departments to ensure their continuity plans are integrated into the overall BCP and that they are prepared to respond effectively to any disruptions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a concentration in finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Two years experience performing financial analysis and business reporting and monitoring business risk; proven experience in project management
  • Experience building and maintaining complex financial applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access and Visual Basic
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven statistical, spreadsheet and simulation skills
