Restaurant Director of Operations - Metro Detroit area

Growing Michigan based restaurant company is searching for a multi-unit hospitality professional. Expertise required in full service, upscale casual restaurants with scratch kitchens. Will be responsible day to day operations of 8 locations including team and guest experience, and sales and profitability.

 

The Director of Operations must have hands-on restaurant operations and corporate experience in opening new locations from the ground up.

Requirements for the Director of Operations position:

  • 5 years in a recent role as Restaurant Director of Operations, Regional Manager, Vice President
  • Strong P&L expertise
  • Proven ability to lead General Managers at multiple locations
  • Extensive experience opening new restaurants
  • Hospitality Business or Business Administration Degree
  • Proven track record of success in fine dining or upscale casual restaurants
  • Solid knowledge of high-end, scratch culinary operation
  • Verify that all Company standard practices and procedures are met (e.g., cash, security, food safety, staffing).
  • Functions as a team builder and coach; proactively recognizes and eliminates communication barriers.
  • Coaches and supports the restaurants by providing timely and consistent development; encourages management teams to improve performance

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced knowledge of restaurant operations and systems, proven hands-on food experience leading a multi-unit team
  • Proficient in the following areas of management: leadership, communication, staff mentoring and development, and quality of operations.
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
