BreakForth Solutions is seeking a Junior Cloud Engineer to support our federal customers. The successful candidate will be part of a team, collaborating closely with our customers to ensure successful oversight and client delivery of impacted projects. In this position, the junior engineer will support our client and the senior cloud engineers in executing cloud projects and the management of the AWS Landing Zone.

Essential Functions: 

This role will be responsible for performing tasks such as but not limited to:

• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and implement cloud strategies.
• Monitor and optimize cloud resources to enhance performance and cost-efficiency.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving cloud-related issues.
• Participate in the evaluation and adoption of emerging cloud technologies.
• Ensure compliance with security and data protection policies

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or related fields.
• 1+ years relevant experience or significant internship preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) languages like CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Knows Unix or Windows servers and network management principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Education/Skills/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust security investigation designation.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must be able to effectively and professionally interact with internal and external clients. 
• Excellent time management skills.
• Must be hands-on and take proactive ownership of projects.
